One day trying this out in my very hilly city, there are a couple areas that leave me wanting more. That said, the price is right and I think this makes a great first e-bike. First impressions: As an average sized guy (about 170 lbs) the motor can struggle with moderate inclines. On steep inclines, you'll need to pedal to help it along. Additionally, the battery life is a little bit lacking. After fully charging, I took it on a little test to check capacity. After hitting a couple of those steep hills and using the throttle for 10-15 mins total, the battery display lost a second bar (indicating around 50% remaining charge) and I headed home. With Lithium batteries losing capacity gradually and that modest performance, I'm a little worried about performance down the road. Also, charging is fairly slow, but that's not a huge deal to me. The good: Fast shipping, easy assembly, and as a pedal-bike the weight and motor offer surprisingly little resistance. It's obviously not optimized as a regular bike, but it's very usable without any juice. Conclusion: I think for someone who plans on heavy use, looking for something that has easily replaceable batteries is probably the way to go, as well as shooting for 500w if you're around my size. Conclusion: overall, I'm very pleased with this despite the criticism I do have. If storage and cost are your top priorities, this might be a good choice for you too. I imagine I'll be upgrading at some point, but for now I'm excited to keep riding.
