Love the low profile
The different levels add to the appeal and the drawers r spacious. As for it holding books maybe 4 or 5 tall books and multiple pocket sized books. I found it easy to assemble and it does require some time. One person can assemble BUT only if one is strong enough to upright it. I assembled it on its side and easily doable. All in all I'm am pleased with the athletics and quality. If you get scratches, simply use a black marker and it will cover that up.
